After we got home she was swinging her head around and said "Now we'll never have to cut my hair again." Little does she know. :)

Cannon LOVES to play outside. He doesn't care what we're doing

as long as it's outside!

One thing he won't do yet is go down the big slide by himself.

Somebody has to be standing there holding his hand or foot or something.

He does love sliding down but not solo just yet. :)

He's not tall enough to sit in the swing but he loves swinging on his belly.

Man, you can kick up a big dust storm if you kick fast enough. :)

Jason decided to grow a garden, for the first time ever, this year. I'm so proud! He has done sooo well for it to be his first time.

So this is as close as Cannon gets IN the garden. The rest of the time he just watches from the other side of the fence.

She Turned the Big "5"

Here she is, my big 5 year old. She had a great little party this evening. She picked what she wanted to eat for her birthday dinner. Of course she changed her mind a few times but a girl can do that you know. Shelbi got to where this birthday crown at school all day and a sticker on her shirt that said Birthday Girl!

She got this Pucchi Pet from her friend at school who won't be able to come to the "big" birthday party, so she opened it tonight. She loved it. Me too that's my kind of pet for a 5 year old.

Since Shelbi had her birthday party at Rod's they gave her a red Rod's Pizza Cellar t-shirt. How cool was that!

Cannon liked the pizza but he LOVED the cake. It was some guuuuud cake!

We went to Rod's Pizza Cellar for the birthday party and a Godfather pizza. Y-U-M-M-Y!

Happy Birthday Shelbi, we love you and thank the Lord for such a sweet and precious daughter!

Easter Sunday

Not sure what that look was all about.

They looked so sweet in their new Easter outfits.

We had a wonderful Easter. The church service was awesome. We went to Mom and Dads for lunch. Uncle Joe and Aunt Candy ate lunch with us. We had a good visit and some good desert. Unfortunately it rained most of the day so Shelbi hunted Easter eggs inside at Nanny and Pawpaw's house. Aunt Candy hid eggs for Shelbi and the Shelbi hid eggs for Aunt Candy. They had a great time. Luckily Cannon had already hunted eggs the day before because while all the egg hiding was going on at Nanny's, Jason, Cannon and I went home and took naps. All in all it was a great day!

Cannon has figured out how to open doors. So here he doesn't want to go into the house to stay he just wants to open the door, go in and turn around and shut the door. It doesn't take much to make this kid happy. :)

It's now time for the "ball" Easter egg hunt.

Cannon would say "ball" and we would say "egg" until we thought he knew the difference. He found and egg here.

Now this confused the poor boy. He's been looking for eggs this whole time and here he finds a golf ball. Oh well, he'll get it all figured out one day. :o)

The New Car

Nanny and Pawpaw found this little car for Cannon and he just loves it. He really loves to push

climb in on the wrong side and mess with all the things on it that open and shut.

But just like any man, he really likes to take it for a spin around the drive way and patio!

Peeling an Egg

Shelbi decided she wanted to eat one of the eggs she colored. She picked one that had already cracked. She's a very serious peeler.

Cannon on the other hand thought these eggs were "balls" and he wanted to throw them and squeeze them. Pawpaw had to show him how to treat an egg.

He did a good job not squeezing them after that. But he did get ahold of one later and smacked it on the ground. :) Maybe next year he can help dye Easter eggs.

Dying Easter Eggs at Nanny's

Shelbi had a big time dying Easter eggs at Nanny's house.

I colored an egg and put Cannon's name on it. That would be the green one. Shelbi's name is on the blue one.

Shelbi did such a good job, dying and putting stickers and using the white crayon. Daddy picked out one dye kit and it was to make camo eggs. That's a first. Nanny picked out another one that had stickers with Easter lillies and crosses and letters to spell out Jesus is alive, and He is risen. I wish we would celebrate Easter more often!

Thank you God for sending your son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. Thank you for raising him from the grave! Thank you that He sits on your right hand and that if we, Believe, Accept and Confess that Jesus is Lord, we will see you in heaven one day. Thank you Lord!

The Big Day

Shelbi went to the dentist for the first time ever today. She was a little nervous at first but as you can see she had her "Bears" with her. We read a book in the waiting room about a visit to the dentist and we practiced opening her mouth really big.

Ms Karen told Shelbi she was gonna set the seat back and when she turned around Shelbi was ready with her mouth wide open. Ms Karen told her what a good job she was doing opening really big. I let her know she practiced in the waiting room.

Dr Porter did some cleaning on her teeth.

He said she had great teeth and a great smile. He's so good with kids!

Shelbi did soooo good at the dentist that she got to pick where she wanted to eat supper. So she picked only the best place to go eat. Chick-fil-a!!!!

Trip to Little Rock

While we were in Little Rock the other day I had this great idea to stop by Toys-R-Us. Jason and I have been talking about getting a new swing set for the kids. So while in the store there is one we agreed on. So we said "load it in the car" Well what can I say. The picture was a lot smaller in the store. I was so embarrassed as the guys were loading this into my car. My mom said if we'd thrown a rocking chair on top we would have looked like the Clampets.

Shelbi has been asking to go to a basketball game this year. Well finally we were able to take her. So here it is folks, here's Shelbi watching a basketball game.

Oh and here is Shelbi holding her ears because the crowd is too loud and watching the basketball players sitting on the bench again. I'm sure she actually did watch some of this basketball game. I'm just not sure when. At least I didn't get it on film. :)

Cannon loves to climb. So, to get him off of the dining room table we found this "Lookout Treehouse" on line and jumped on it. He loves it! He climbs up the ladder, he climbs up the slide. He slides down feet first, then hands first. He runs down the slide. I don't think he's figured out every way he can climb on this thing but don't count him out yet, he's a quick learner.

Shelbi has been wanting to decorate the tree for Christmas forever, so finally here she is helping me decorate. She had a pretty good time.

Cannon can take or leave the thing. He will look at it it and say "WOW" and be on his merry way.

About the only way we could get Cannon to sit still long enough for a picture was sit him on something. I really have to be quit on the draw with the camera or I'm not gonna get the shot.

Just a quick update. We received a call from our pediatric nurse and Cannon's EEG was good. Everything is normal and he's doing just fine.

Cannon's EEG

Cannon had what the Dr's think was a febrile seizure Oct 23rd. So his Dr made an appointment to have an EEG and since I can't explain exactly what that looks like I took these pics. Cannon did a good job. He was not happy about someone he doesn't know touching his head and wrapping him up like a burrito. He did better one we got his passy out.

The nurse said he needed to be awake and then go to sleep for them to run the test properly. Luckily it was his nap time so she turned out all the lights and turned some lullaby music on and a loud fan. ( he's used to that) he finally went to sleep and was sleeping really well. About 2o minutes into his nap the nurse says " okay we're done, go ahead and start waking him up I need his eye to be open and him be awake." He wasn't happy about that either. The nurse finally took off all the little wires on his head. (he did enjoy that) She used a warm wash cloth with baby shampoo on it and massaged his head. We didn't hear a peep out of him during that part. :) Finally it was all over and we got to go eat lunch. He was fine from there on out. The nurse told us that if he was in any danger that she wouldn't let us leave and we would have had to see a Dr. So now we wait to hear from Cannon's Dr with the results. I'm very optimistic about the results and figure we probably won't have anymore problems. We'll keep you posted.

Halloween at Uncle Evan's & Aunt Erin's

Shelbi and Cannon got to trick or treat in Evan and Erin's neighborhood. So nice, they have side walks. I miss those:)

Shelbi wanted us all to dress up. Dad was a hunter, I'm the Dr., Cannon was a lion. He roared everytime the people would open up the door to hand out the candy. So funny! Shelbi was Jasmine from Aladin. So beautiful. She had more fun answering Uncle Evan's front door with Aunt Erin. She liked to see what the other kids were dressed in.

While we were there we got to go to the Razorback game. Great game! Woo pig sooie!

Cannon's 1 year pictures

We finally got Cannon's 1 year pictures taken. If my head weren't attached I'd be in trouble. We're so busy I just kept forgetting. Cannon's doing good and learning fast.
He was eating lunch the other day and finally got finished. I said "All done!" and like a little parrot he followed up with " AAAADAAAA" In baby that mean All done. He's such a big boy.

We had a little scare yesterday, Cannon had a febrile seizure during his nap. We took him to the Dr. shortly after and he sent us to the ER here in town. They ran some tests and per Dr's orders we went by ambulance to Children's ER in Little Rock. Cannon was taking an extra long time to come out of it and that's what worried the Dr. When we arrived at Children's Cannon finally started coming around and perking up little by little but by that time he'd already had a long day so he took himself a little nap and finally it was OK to go home. The final diagnosis: Febrile illness/ febrile seizure. The Dr's office will be making an apt for Cannon to have an EEG at Children's soon so keep us in your prayers. I know my God is an awesome God and Cannon is His. I will do my best to lay Cannon at His feet. I know the Lord is in control and everything will be okay. Cannon's acting more like himself today. I'm just gonna keep my chin up. Thank you Lord!

Cannon had a great birthday party! He had a great turn out and enjoyed his day very much! He had a dump truck birthday cake. Pawpaw helped him open his presents and what 1 year old boy doesn't need a 4 wheeler. Which by the way he'd rather push:) So funny! We enjoyed everyone being there it was one wild and busy day but I wouldn't trade a minute of it!

Can you believe it? Cannon turned a year old Sept 25th. He's sooo big. He pretty much just skipped walking altogether and now he's running every where. He's into everything all day long, except nap time. Thank you Lord for nap time. :) He's a sweet boy but don't think you're gonna get a hug and a kiss. He's waaaay to busy for that. He'll wave high and bye but stay out of the way when Cannon's comin through! ;)

She's gettin better

As you can see, Shelbi is maxin and relaxin! Shelbi got a get well package from Uncle Evan and Aunt Erin this week and boy did it do the trick.

We have had such a hard time this week getting Shelbi to drink or eat anything (soft). Shelbi can't take her pain meds on an empty stomach so we've been giving her milk to drink and that coats her stomach and she does fine. Well this particular day I couldn't even get her to drink the milk. And low and behold this package arrives in the mail. I took advantage of this situation. We told Shelbi that as soon as she finished her milk she could open this package. Well let me tell you, the next thing we heard was her slurping the straw in the bottom of an empty cup. Thank you Uncle Evan and Aunt Erin, you helped in more ways than one!

My sweet Shelbi had her tonsils and her adenoids removed today. The first thing she said when it was over was,"I want my pajamas on and I don't' like hospitals!" Well we put her pajamas on and got the heck out of dodge. Of course she had to ride home in Nanny's car so I rode in the back and fed her ice chips all the way home. Shelbi is not the ideal patient, boy can she be cranky. I do love to cuddle with her though. That Tylenol with codeine works very well !

We went to Austin's football game last weekend and it was a good one. Sadly his teammate got the ball and ran into the wrong end zone. They lost by one point. Aaaawwww mannnn! It's okay he just got turned around. I do that in the mall all the time;)

Here's my sweet Caesar. Sometimes we think he's part goat because he'll get into and eat just about anything.

I was in the back of the house and Cannon was in his room and I kept hearing thing clinking noise(kinda like the sound of dog tags) well I walk into the living room and walked into this. Poor thing couldn't get the basket off his head and that gave me plenty of time to get the camera. By the look on his face I don't think he thought it was as funny as I did.

Man, time is just flying by. I feel like I'm missing it. Cannon's walking around(with a little help) He saying Hi, Hey, Mama, Daddy, Uuh Uuh. He'll even pick up the phone and say Hi and bye bye. He waves hi and bye. He's learning so fast.
